Infrastructure Health Check
When Barkers HR Advertising first contacted Ponte Comm, it’s fair to say their data cabling system needed some attention.  We completed an ‘Infrastructure Health Check’ inspection and report on the whole system from top (8th floor) to bottom (Basement).

The Barkers IT team welcomed the report and commissioned Ponte Comm to fully implement our recommended course of actions.

This started at the hub of the network with a full re-organisation of the Main Comms Room including verification of the patching scheme by tracing and documenting each patch lead from end to end. Obsolete leads were removed, and inappropriately long leads replaced with suitable ones.

The result was spectacular, and we delivered an organised and professional IT environment.

Works continued with a complete overhaul of the optical fibre backbone cabling system, including the riser containment system.  We also installed a new Cat 5e horizontal cabling system.

Our relationship with Barkers continues to develop, with Ponte Comm now the first port of call for data needs.  Indeed, when another contractor recently cut through a fibre optic cable onsite Ponte Comm received an emergency call to repair the damage.
